Qatar National Museum

TIME : 2016/2/17 18:03:50

When it reopens after a massive renovation, the Qatar National Museum, just off Al Corniche, will be one of Doha's standout attractions. No-one seems to know the reopening date, but everyone agrees that architect Jean Nouvel's desert rose–inspired structures, which will form the museum's centrepiece, will be worth waiting for. Remarkably, the new edifice will be superimposed upon the Fariq Al Salata Palace, built in 1901 and used by Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed, Qatar’s ruler from 1913 to 1949.
