Pioneer Building

TIME : 2016/2/18 11:26:40

Built in 1891, this magnificent structure facing Pioneer Square Park is one of the finest Victorian buildings in Seattle and showcases many of the classic components of Richardsonian Romanesque; look for the Roman arches, a recessed main doorway, curvaceous bay windows and various decorative flourishes, most notably the two frontal columns that frame some skillfully embellished bricks. Several mining companies had offices here during the Klondike Gold Rush. It was designed by Elmer Fisher, whose fingerprints are all over Pioneer Square.
