These two lakes, less than 10km (6.2 miles) from town, offer abundant water activities. Patricia Lake contains the wreck of a WWII boat called Habbakuk, sunk after a secret wartime mission. Experienced divers can examine it in close-up with Jasper Dive Adventures . Pyramid Lake, overlooked by an eponymous resort, is popular with canoers and kayakers in summer and ice-skaters in winter. It has a lovely island, popular with nighttime stargazers, accessible by a bridge.
