Match dates, Fixtures, Star players to watch during the 2014 World Cup.

Super Eagles in Brazil The 2014 edition of the World Cup has begun and we are pleased to announce(remind) you that the African Champions are already in Brazil & getting ready for their first game. Congratulations to the host, Brazil, on winning the opening match of the competition. They should watch out the Super Eagles.    The Super Eagles won the last edition of the African Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2013 after going 19 years without winning the trophy. In 1994, we won the AFCON with Stephen Keshi as the team Captain.   Coach Stephen Keshi did it again last year, 2013 when he won the cup again for Nigeria, this time as a Coach.   We are proud of them & want to share some figures with you. They are good conversation starters/answers; the World Cup will be the most talked about event for the next couple of Days. Nigeria's color is Green White Green. Nigeria is in Group F along with IranArgentinaBosnia and Herzegovina. John Mikel Obi

Ranking:

Nigeria currently ranks 6th in Africa and 44th in the World from the latest FIFA rankings and has featured in four of the last five World cups but has never gone beyond the round of 16. Nigeria has been knocked out in the round of 16 twice-in 1994 and 1998-and did not fly through the group stage in 2002 and 2010. In 2006, Nigeria was missing from the action of the World Cup.   The two editions Nigeria reached the round of 16 the team was under foreign coaches: 1994 with Dutch Clement Westerhof and 1998 with Serbian Bora MilutinovicCoach Stephen Keshi will be seeking to become the first Nigerian to lead the Super Eagles to the knockout phase and even beyond to the quarter final as that is Team Nigeria's mission in the 2014 World cup.   Super Eagles in Brazil

Players to watch Vincent Enyeama is the Nigerian goal keeper. He has had an outstanding performance for Team Nigeria in the past and last season kept a cleansheet for his club (Lille of France) for 11 matches.   John Mikel Obi plays for Chelsea FC in the Barclay English Premier League and has been able to prove his worth towards making 1st eleven team under the Jose Mourinho, the Special one.   Peter Odemwingie also plays in the Barclays English Premier League for Stoke city, I like to call him the prodigal son as he has had issues with the NFL and coaching staff of team Nigeria in the past, but had an impressive run last term for his club leading to his recall back to join Team Nigeria for the 2014 World cup.   Emmanuel Emenike has been consistent both from club (Fenerbahce) and Team Nigeria in the last few years, we look forward to a better performance at the World Cup.     Nigerians in the North, South, East, West of the country have Football as a uniting goal. It is common to see Nigerians at home & abroad wear their green & whites, paint their faces and show massive support for the Super Eagles through win & lose.   My Destination Nigeria represents the millions of Nigerians wishing the Super Eagles best of luck & victory in Brazil this 2014.   See the Top places to watch world cup matches in Lagos or choose a lounge/bar of your choice.   Play football at Soho 24 Sports Park in Abuja.
