KidZania Town

 
Kidzania is a unique opportunity for kids to take the natural game of acting out careers to a new level. The first location was founded in 1196 in Mexico City as the brainchild of Lopez Ancona, and rapidly grew into an international franchise. One of the key features of the company is joining with sponsors with different specialties to develop realistic learning environments in each field. There are two locations in Japan, one in Tokyo and one in Koshien which is close to Osaka and Kyoto.

The program is broken into two sessions per day, from 9 am – 3 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. Children ages 3-15 can choose the careers they want to learn about, then are given special tasks related to it. Trained staff is on hand to guide the process and keep things running smoothly. Uniforms add to the fun, and kids can enjoy the foods they make in the various restaurants. Furthermore, they earn special money that can be used in any Kidzania location for food, gifts, or other products. Each job experience is about 30 minutes long, so kids can try a wide range of activities during the half-day session. There are over 90 activities offered.

On the second and fourth Wednesday of each month during September thru December 2013 it is English Day at KidZania Tokyo. All over the city, more than half of the Pavilions have Activities that are conducted completely in English. English Wednesday! is not only a fun chance for English learners to use more English, but it’s also a great way for native English speaking Kids to enjoy KidZania.

Parents and children under 3 are not allowed to participate in activities, but there is a lounge for relaxing and viewing the activities from a distance.

The Tokyo location is frequently sold out, so it is advised, though not required, to make reservations in advance to avoid any disappointment.
