An Anaheim travel guide – Disneyland, the Old West and nightly fireworks

An Anaheim vacation lets you explore the amusements and rides at Disneyland, California Adventure and Knott's Berry Farm. Book an Anaheim hotel and visit the home of Mickey Mouse.

Disneyland

An Anaheim vacation is not complete without a visit to the ”happiest place on earth”. The moment you enter the idealized Main Street USA, you'll feel the Disney touch. Grab a fast pass and avoid long lines for popular rides like Indiana Jones in Adventureland or walk through Sleeping Beauty's Castle to enter the wonders of Fantasyland. The colorful rides are tame enough for youngsters but have enough excitement to keep adults entertained.

Disney's California Adventure

Lower key than its sister theme park, California Adventure was designed to celebrate the state of California. Visitors enter beneath a miniature version of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge into Sunshine Plaza. Paradise Pier evokes the feeling of coastal town boardwalks. At the Hollywood Pictures Backlot the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is the main attraction. Less nerve-wracking is the Turtle Talk with Crush, a live interactive animation experience starring the lovable reptile from Finding Nemo.

Knott's Berry Farm

A shuttle runs from your Anaheim hotel to Buena Park. This former berry farm turned theme park has Western-themed entertainment, thrill rides and a children's area, Camp Snoopy. Roller coaster lovers take on the Silver Bullet, right beside the entrance in Calico Square. Other classic thrill rides are clustered in Fiesta Village. The Boardwalk features some of the latest hair-raising rides that'll have you screaming with fun or fear.

Downtown Disney

Located near Disneyland, this outdoor shopping area satisfies the appetite with grilled seafood, pizzas, pasta and tortillas. After an exhausting day at the amusement parks, unwind with a movie, dinner at Fulton's Crab House or just a bite at Earl of Sandwich
