DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

My wife and I first visited this tropical island in 2006.  We felt at home from the minute we arrived – and we fell in love with the warm weather. The island was a lot less developed than it is now and we've been back many times since and met some amazing people who became good friends. We loved discovering the richness of the country, from Saona Island to Samana. We saw whales for the first time.  We loved their music, we loved their Presidente beer. In 2014, we decided to move from Madrid, where we had lived all our lives, to the Caribbean and decided to make Punta Cana our new home. We are very happy here.

JAPAN

I took my two sons to Tokyo on my last trip there last year. I spent my late teen years there at the beginning of  my singing career with a dance company. It was so beautiful to go back to a city that I knew so well, but almost 30 years later, to show my kids. Japanese cuisine is my favourite food, but I don't think they were that enthusiastic about it.

MEXICO

One of the first places my career took me to and the first place where they believed in me as an international artist. I will always be grateful for that. I have travelled the world from one end to another, but I have a deep attachment to Mexico. I feel in love with the desert, the beaches, the Gulf of California and I fell in love with their culture and cuisine. I have always thought of it as my second home. Spending Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) there one year was one of the best weeks in my life.

FRANCE

When I performed in the Olympia Theatre in Paris for the first time in 2004, I was mesmerised by the beauty of the city. I had been there once before during a tour, but only for 27 hours. This time I had time to walk the streets, take it all in and experience the nightlife. I always look forward to returning there for concerts.

ARGENTINA

When I recorded my album Cigala & Tango, I spent 15 days in Buenos Aires rehearsing for the live recording with Argentinian musicians. I learnt so much about music and how to work with people from different backgrounds.  Since that experience, my relationship with Argentina just gets better every time I return. I feel loved.
