Everyone knows that parts of Rome have long been overrun with homeless cats. The city has had a great tradition of helping the abandoned animals, which congregate in parks and ruins (film star Anna Magnani even got involved in feeding them). Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary (Largo di Torre Argentina; 39-06/4542-5240; romancats.com) merges animal rescue and adoption by allowing foreigners and locals alike to take one of the felines home. Prada pet carrier not included.
