Buenos Aires and Vicinity

Volunteers typically stay in Buenos Aires and take public transportation (about one hour each way).Canned and processed foods are collected and sorted in a warehouse in the small city of San Martín (where food-production is a major industry), and volunteers help to check expiration dates, separate products, and prepare bags and boxes for delivery to food banks all around Buenos Aires.

The food bank is open 9am-6pm Monday-Friday, but volunteer hours are completely flexible, making it a good fit for anyone looking to enrich their regularly planned vacation in Buenos Aires. Free time can of course be filled with all the usual attractions of Buenos Aires—tango and cafés, flea markets and soccer.
