Telstra Tower
Black Mountain (812m), northwest of the city, is topped by the 195m-high Telstra Tower, which has a great vista from 66m up its shaft.
Shoalhaven Zoo
Meet native animals at this 6.5-hectare park on the north bank of the Shoalhaven River. It also has a camp site (adult/child from $10/6).
Napoleone Cider
Produces a variety of pear and apple ciders crushed onsite using fruits picked from its orchard. Also does a pale ale beer. Free tastings.
Costume & Pioneer Museum
The Costume & Pioneer Museum , in the same building as the visitor centre, has fascinating exhibits and a delightful miniature house.
Barossa Regional Gallery
Has an eclectic collection of paintings, crafts and touring exhibitions, plus an impressive set of organ pipes at the back of the room.
Wood Park Wines
Wood Park Wines has wine tastings at its picturesque vineyard, but ring first as it鈥檚 a bit of a hike (signposted off the Snow Rd).
Wharefinger Museum
Grab the key from the visitor centre and have a peek inside the nearby museum, with its atmospheric shipping and aviation displays.
Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens
Oak, pine and cypress trees fill these beautiful gardens, which have a picnic area and lookout tower with fine views of the countryside.
Tamworth Regional Gallery
In purpose-built premises next to the library, the gallery has some interesting local bequeaths and more modern roving exhibitions.
Tweed Regional Museum
The town鈥檚 small museum is housed in a beautiful old building and features a solid account of local history and an interesting radio room.

The 1841, National Trust鈥搇isted White House is full of colonial furnishings, vintage cars, antique toys and an intricate dolls鈥?house.
White Hills Botanic Gardens
Just 2km north of town, the gardens feature many exotic and rare plant species, a small fauna park, aviary, and barbecue facilities.

Oxley Scenic Lookout
Follow jacaranda-lined White St to the very top, where youll reach this viewpoint. Its the best seat in the house as the sun goes down.

Potoroo Palace has echidnas, kangaroos, dingoes, koalas, potoroos and native birds. Its 9km north of Merimbula on the road to Bega.
Deep Reach Pool
Shady picnic tables and barbecues back onto a perfect swimming hole believed to be the resting place of the Warlu (creation serpent).
Craigow Vineyard
Offers tastings in a colonial cottage. Great whites, including riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Located opposite Frogmore Creek.
