NTT East is offering for the limited time only, free Wi-Fi services specifically for foreigners who are traveling in Japan. From July 19th 2013 to March 31, 2016, the “Free Wi-Fi Card” will be distributed in Yokohama. Free internet access in Japan is not as common as in North America so this is an excellent promotion to allow tourists to get a high-quality wi-fi signal at designated hot spots.

In order to get one, show your passport at the following locations:

– Tourist Information Centers (Yokohama Station (On the East to West Walk Way), Shin-Yokohama Station, Minatomirai Station Tourist Information Center, Yokohama Doll Museum Tourist Information Center )

– Yokohama Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal (Information Counter)

– Yokohama Takashimaya Department Store (1F Information Counter)

Once you have registered, you will be supplied with a ID and Password necessary at the access point with NTT East Wi-Fi signals for 14 days. There are more than 530 access points in Yokohama and more than 26,000 points around East Japan.
