10–18 Jumel Terrace
Along 10 to 18 Jumel Terrace stands a row of townhouses, designed in the 1890s by the renowned architect Henri Fouchaux. At number 16 lived prolific entertainer and civil-rights activist Paul Robeson.

Childrens Fairyland
Lakeside Park, at the northern end of the saltwater lake, includes this 10-acre attraction, which dates from 1950 and has charming fairy-tale-themed train, carousel and mini Ferris-wheel rides.

Fort Duncan Museum

Lewis & Clark Boathouse & Nature Center
Lewis and Clark began their epic journey in St Charles on May 21, 1804, and their encampment is reenacted annually on that date. This museum has displays about the duo and replicas of their boats.

Silver Cliff Museum
This small museum is housed in a former town hall and fire station, built in 1879. You can view relics and photographs of the regional history. Its located in Silver Cliff, just east of Westcliffe.

Stone Fort Museum
Don Antonio Gil YBarbos 1789 stone house subsequently served as a grocery store, a saloon and a fortification. Exhibits in the reconstructed fort serve as an overview of east Texas history.

Petersburg National Battlefield is where Union soldiers planted explosives underneath a Confederate breastwork, leading to the Battle of the Crater (novelized and cinematized in Cold Mountain ).
